West Ham United defeated Lusitanos 3-0 in a Europa League qualifier on Thursday.

West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho has told the club’s official website that he was pleased with the help he got from two of his teammates against FC Lusitans.

The Senegal international scored twice for the Hammers at the Boleyn Ground, as they got the better of the Andorran side 3-0 in the first leg of the Europa League first qualifying round.

Following the win, Sakho praised his West Ham teammates Mauro Zarate and Morgan Amalfitano.

“Zarate assisted the first, and Amalfitano the second,” the 25-year-old told West Ham’s official website.

“They are important players for passes and assists for me. Today I'm happy that Mauro was back and it's good for the striker to have two players like them assisting them.”

Big season for duo

The upcoming 2015-16 campaign will be big for both Zarate and Amalfitano, both of whom joined West Ham in the summer of 2014.

Neither of the players managed to have a particularly great debut campaign for the Hammers, and it will be important for them to have a good pre-season.

With a new manager - Slaven Bilic - in at West Ham, both Zarate and Amalfitano will be determined to make the most of the chances they will get over the coming weeks.
