The West Ham icon has been universally lauded after becoming a member of the coaching setup.
Julian Dicks is a popular Hammer.
If anyone wasn't sure, just look at the reaction to his appointment to Slaven Bilic's backroom staff.
The former West Ham United defender has been universally lauded. Ex-pros and friends have united on Twitter to wish him well and praise the east London club for bringing him into the men's setup (Dicks was previously West Ham Ladies coach). Fans cannot get enough.
In fact, the reaction has been so positive that Dicks may be encouraged in terms of his managerial future.
No one would begrudge Bilic years of success as West Ham boss but, somewhere down the line, the Upton Park hot seat will open up once again.
Dicks has in the past declared he would love to manage the club one day - and the positive reaction to him simply becoming a coach suggests he could end up the people's choice for the top job in future.
Being a fan favourite brings its own pressure, of course, in case things don't work out at West Ham. But, for now, there's no talk of what might go wrong. There is only positivity. And a potential future manager in the making for the Hammers.
