Report: Juventus to make official bid for Chelsea midfielder Oscar

The Brazilian is believed to be one of the Italian club's key targets and they're reportedly set to offer big money for his services.

Juventus are set to step up their interest in Chelsea attacking midfielder Oscar with an official bid, reports the Corriere dello Sport.

The Champions League finalists are keen to add an attacking midfielder to their side having strengthened elsewhere already this summer, with forwards Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic signing and Sami Khedira joining on a free from Real Madrid.

That has apparently led them to pursue Brazilian Oscar, who manager Massimiliano Allegri may have identified as a key target for this transfer window. They are now allegedly going to make their first official move for the player, with the Corriere dello Sport claiming they will offer as much as £19 million for the player.

The paper insists that Chelsea will reject that bid however, as they are thought to be looking for closer to £24 million for their man. A positive for the Old Lady however is that Jose Mourinho does not consider the player as unsellable.

Mourinho always sells for the right price

Oscar was a key player for Mourinho last season as he made 35 appearances in all competitions, with eight goals and eight assists to his name throughout.

However, for the right price it’s possible that Mourinho will sell anyone, as he has done in the past. Indeed, the sale of the Brazilian could be used to fund improvements elsewhere or for a direct replacement.

Perhaps even, the Portuguese boss could try to tempt the Turin side into sending Paul Pogba their way, although that would be highly unlikely given his suitors around Europe.
