There were plenty of notable faces on show as Steve McClaren took his first ever Newcastle training session.
The 21-year-old defender and 24-year-old goalkeeper were taking part in their first Newcastle training, too, and certainly looked the part as McClaren watched over them.
The duo were sold to the Magpies by Nottingham Forest last season, before being loaned back to the Championship side. They endured mixed fortunes at the City Ground thereafter, with many accusing them of playing like their heads were already at St James' Park.
Now, of course, they will no longer have to worry about that. Although the pressure looks as though it will be on Lascelles and Darlow. No new signings are yet to come through at Newcastle and that may mean an increased role for the duo ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Here they both are in training on Wednesday afternoon, when McClaren officially got his Magpies reign underway. What can we expect from the ex-Forest pair over the course of the season?
