Former Bolton Wanderers defender Mills was confirmed as a Forest player on Wednesday, while the club also announced Ward's arrival on Thursday afternoon.
Ward started his career at Aston Villa but the striker most recently spent several years at Derby County.
Now, however, the forward will join Mills at Nottingham Forest as they look to strengthen ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign.
And owner Al-Hasawi was delighted to welcome the duo to the City Ground on Twitter after both signings were confirmed:
After yesterday’s arrival of Matt Mills, today Jamie Ward joins #NFFC. A very warm welcome to both players.— @FAWAZ_ALHASAWI (@fawaz_alhasawi1) July 2, 2015
Forest fans will no doubt hope the pair can help change the club's mixed fortunes in recent seasons.
Last campaign was an embodiment of their travails as Nottingham Forest started strongly under Stuart Pearce but ebbed way until the club icon was sacked as manager.
Dougie Freedman lifted form and spirits before Forest then suffered another lull at the end of the Championship season. What's in store for the Midlands side next term - more inconsistency or a break away from what has become the norm?
