Not just Cellino: Wood praises Pearson and Rosler for bringing him to Leeds

The newly signed Leeds striker has heaped praise on his head coach, as well as acknowledging the role of the director.

New Leeds United signing Chris Wood has emphasised the role played by Adam Pearson and Uwe Rosler in bringing him to Elland Road, according to BBC Radio Leeds.

Indeed, the 23-year-old praised owner Massimo Cellino as soon as he had joined Leeds but he was also keen to talk up head coach Rosler, who he feels is a 'brilliant' manager.

And Wood feels the club is heading in the right direction thanks to the efforts of executive director Pearson, too - as well as Cellino and his coach.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "He (Rosler) was brilliant as a coach during his time at Brentford and Wigan and he was a big part of me coming here because he's a brilliant manager like that. I'm looking forward to working under him."

The 23-year-old added on LUTV: "I believe the owner, along with the gaffer and Adam Pearson, are ready to take the club forward."

Heading in the right direction?

Any player arriving at Elland Road during Cellino's tenure should be careful what they wish for in that things could all turn sour at the drop of a hat.

But things do seem to have calmed down at Leeds and Wood's acknowledgement that the hierarchy look as though they are getting things in order slowly is a positive sign for fans.

And the 23-year-old's comments could even be a positive for the Whites in terms of attracting other targets, as players may look at Wood's experience and feel reassured Leeds' chaotic past is behind them.
