Liverpool fans react to Fara Williams performance: She's better than Joe Allen!

The Reds faithful responded to the England star's performance during the Women's World Cup on Twitter.

Men or women, gentlemen or ladies, England will always be the same. The luck - and the winning moments - just aren't ever there for the Three Lions/esses and so it proved once again on Wednesday night/Thursday morning, as the England Ladies team were knocked out of the World Cup semi-finals in the last minute against Japan.

Last-minute goals conceded? Freak own goals and heartbreak? Yep, that's England alright.

But the Lionesses still did England proud and women's football in this country has taken a big step forward.

A huge plus point from the tournament and game, meanwhile, was Liverpool midfielder Fara Williams, who impressed the watching world and even had fans calling for her (jokingly) to join the men's team on Twitter!

Indeed, Liverpool supporters lauded Williams for another strong performance, with the 31-year-old scoring the penalty that had kept England level until the last-minute winner they conceded.
