Celtic fans react on Twitter to Dedryck Boyata's debut performance

Celtic Stands

The Bhoys faithful were impressed with the former Manchester City defender during his first outing.

Celtic's pre-season got off to a solid start against Den Bosch, as Ronny Deila's men won 2-0 on Wednesday night.

It was the perfect preparation for the Hoops' upcoming Champions League qualifiers, with a number of fringe players - Liam Henderson, Thomas Rogic etc - getting a chance to show what they can do for Deila's side.

One Bhoy who stole the attention of many watching Celtic fans, however, was a new addition. Indeed, Dedryck Boyata, who joined the Scottish champions this summer from Premier League giants Manchester City, was in action for the first time during a friendly.

And the 24-year-old even caught the attention of former Celtic star Amido Balde.

Just as impressed, if not more, were the Celtic faithful themselves.

Indeed, Bhoys supporters are looking forward to Boyata forming a partnership with Virgil van Dijk (should he stay at Parkhead this summer) and were impressed by the physical ability on show from the former Manchester City defender.

He may have been dispensable for Manchester City but Celtic could value Boyata quite highly in the coming months and years. Here's the best of the Twitter reaction to his friendly debut:
