Bristol City agree deal for ex-Blackburn and Norwich keeper Mark Bunn

Bristol City

HITC Sport understands Bristol City have agreed a deal to sign former Norwich City goalkeeper Mark Bunn.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that former Norwich City goalkeeper Mark Bunn is poised to join Bristol City.

Bunn is a free agent after seeing out his contract at Norwich earlier this summer, and Bristol City are ready to take him to Ashton Gate.

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill is in the market for goalkeeping reinforcements after allowing Dave Richards to leave this summer.

Bunn is understood to have undergone a medical at Bristol City and is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Championship new boys.

The 30-year-old will provide cover and competition for current City No.1 Frank Fielding, and he will be keen to get his career back on track after a difficult last 12 months.

Bunn endured a frustrating campaign at Norwich last season, failing to figure with John Ruddy first-choice at Carrow Road and Declan Rudd providing back-up.

Bunn made his name at Northampton Town before joining Blackburn Rovers in a £1 million deal in 2008, but after failing to nail down a regular place at Ewood Park, he joined Norwich in 2012.
