Are Crystal Palace at risk of missing out on Yohan Cabaye to Roma?

Are Crystal Palace at risk of missing out on former Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye?

Crystal Palace are at risk of missing out on top transfer target Yohan Cabaye after AS Roma entered the race.

French website Maxifoot has reported how Roma boss Rudi Garcia has personally contacted countryman Cabaye to discuss a potential move.

Garcia managed Cabaye at Lille, with the duo going onto win the 2010/11 Ligue 1 title.

Still a chance

Crystal Palace remain well placed to do a deal, with The Guardian reporting how the team coached by his former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew have made an approach to PSG over a transfer.

Maxifoot report that Roma may not be able to compete with Crystal Palace financially in terms of the wages Cabaye may want.

The creative midfielder has struggled to play regularly at PSG and is in the market for a new club as a result, and it may be that at Palace he would get more regular football than Roma.

The Italians however can match the lure of playing under a manager he knows well, and offer Champions League football and a title challenge on top, either way - the French international will soon likely have a big decision to make.
