West Ham United transfer round-up: Losing ground in race for two targets

A selection of the latest news concerning West Ham United.

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham are losing ground in the race to sign two of their summer transfer targets.

Approaches have been made for Yohan Cabaye and Idrissa Gueye, of PSG and Lille respectively, but they both appear to be set for other clubs.

Cabaye is said to be on the verge of signing for Crystal Palace, whilst Gueye is mulling over offers from both Aston Villa and Marseille.

Also according to the Daily Mail, West Ham have been linked with making a move for Roma striker Mattia Destro.

The forward, who spent part of last season on loan with AC Milan, has already entered discussions with the Hammers, although the two clubs are struggling to reach an agreement for his transfer.

West Ham want to sign him on a season-long loan deal, whereas Roma want to sell him permanently, and are looking for a £10 million fee.

The same report also claims that the East London outfit are looking to wrap up deals for Aleksandar Dragovic of Dynamo Kyiv, Monaco’s Aymen Abdennour and Angelo Ogbonna, currently with Juventus.
