The German champions have reportedly reached out to the player's brother about a move.
The Spaniard and his current club have reportedly reached an impasse in their negotiations over a new deal, which has led to reports that the defender will look to leave the Bernabeu.
Manchester United were thought to be one of the clubs leading the race to secure his signature, but it now appears they will face competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Speaking on El Chiringuito, journalist Pipi Estrada claimed that Pep Guardiola has already made enquiries about the player via Ramos’ brother Rene Ramos.
That discussion has already happened, according to the journalist, with the report also claiming that Bayern would be willing to offer him substantial wages on a long-term deal.
A battle for Manchester United
Whether however, Ramos would want to work with Guardiola remains to be seen, with the pair having crossed swords in some heated contests when Guardiola was in charge at Barcelona.
Aside from the money, a move to the Allianz would likely be more appealing for the Spaniard than Manchester United, with the Bavarian side almost guaranteed league titles while the Champions League is always on the cards.
In contrast, Louis van Gaal’s side are in the midst of rebuilding the squad as they aim to return to the top of the Premier League once again. In that regard then, they may face a fight to convince to Ramos to move to Old Trafford.
