Norwich's Nathan Redmond named in Euro 2015 team of the tournament

Three Lions close

The England Under-21 star has been linked to Liverpool and Stoke in recent months, before helping the Canaries back into the Premier League.

Despite finishing bottom of their group at the European Under-21 championships, Uefa have rewarded Norwich City's Nathan Redmond the honour of making the competition's team of the tournament.

The former Birmingham winger, who has been linked to Liverpool and Stoke over the last year by the Mail, was certainly one of the better performers of what was a hugely disappointing performance by Gareth Southgate's group, but that's not saying much.

Many will question whether there were in fact other more impressive performers in the tournament than the 21-year-old, who despite playing 90 minutes in England's three matches in the competition only contributed one goal, during the 3-1 loss to Italy, and zero assists.

Redmond will get over the disappointment of the country's early exit by preparing for Norwich's return to the Premier League, something he himself played a huge part in, scoring in both the semi-final and final win over Middlesbrough.

Considering he has already made 168 first team appearances in either the Championship or Premier League, it is clear Redmond is a special talent, but even he might question how he made into the best elven of Euro 2015 in Prague.
