Linked with Spurs exit, Hugo Lloris outlines hopes for next season at Tottenham

Hugo Lloris

The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper has been discussing his aims for next campaign.

Hugo Lloris has outlined his hopes for next season at Tottenham and says the north London side want to go as far as possible in every competition available to them, according to the club's official website.

The Spurs 'keeper has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United all summer long by the Daily Mirror among others.

But the 28-year-old is focusing solely on Tottenham - for now.

Indeed, Lloris told the official Tottenham site when asked about his hopes for next season: "We always want a better season. We expect to improve as a team and to get the club as high as possible in the league.

"We also want to enjoy it as much as possible with our fans, to go far in cup competitions - that’s always a good feeling - and to win trophies. The expectation is always the same and we work every day for the chance to win something."

Hope for Spurs fans?

Far from seeing his future elsewhere, then, the Frenchman's comments could give supporters hope during a summer in which he has been relentlessly linked with Manchester United.

That said, Lloris was doing a run-of-the-mill interview which may have even been recorded weeks in advance. The shot stopper is hardly likely to tell the club's main site he doesn't see his future at White Hart Lane.

Were Lloris's head elsewhere, though, he may of course have not done an interview at all, while he has been very clear about what he wants from next season at Tottenham. That's certainly better than nothing.
