Leeds United fans react on Twitter to Chris Wood signing

The striker left Leicester to sign with Leeds United on Wednesday.

As confirmed by the official Leeds website, Chris Wood signed a permanent deal with the Whites.

The 23-year-old striker left Premier League side Leicester to agree a deal with the club, and Uwe Rosler’s team beat off other interest in the forward to sign him.

The New Zealand international is Leeds fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Lee Erwin, Charle Horton and Sol Bamba during June. His arrival shows that the club are keen on getting their business completed early to give them the best chance of securing promotion to the Premier League.

Wood scored eight goals in 29 games for the Foxes during their promotion winning campaign of 2013/14, and although he netted on the opening day of the 2014/15 Premier League season - in a 2-2 draw with Everton - he struggled for first team chances and was sent out on loan to Ipswich.

Despite his poor campaign, Wood is a player with real talent and Championship experience, and Leeds signing him is a step in the right direction.

Following his signing, fans reacted on Twitter to the news, and it appears as if the majority of the Leeds support are delighted to have agreed a deal for a player of Wood’s calibre.
