Harry Redknapp reacts on Twitter to Sean O'Driscoll joining Liverpool

The former Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers boss has given his verdict on the coaching switch.

Ex-Spurs, West Ham and QPR boss Harry Redknapp has taken to Twitter to express his delight that Sean O'Driscoll has been given an opportunity as assistant manager at Liverpool.

Described by the Liverpool Echo as an 'imminent appointment,' former Doncaster Rovers and Nottingham Forest boss O'Driscoll will be working at Melwood next season.

And Redknapp is pleased to see the man who used to play under him at Bournemouth link up with a club like Liverpool.

Interestingly, Redknapp hasn't commented on exactly how it will benefit Liverpool. Naturally, a manager who hasn't quite cut it in lower-league football joining up with a side aiming to get into the Champions League won't fill the Reds faithful with excitement.

Brendan Rodgers has spoken highly of O'Driscoll but, let's face it, his judgement in the transfer market is extremely questionable at best.

Of course it's a great move for O'Driscoll - Redknapp is once again stating the obvious. Liverpool supporters will no doubt hope, though, that he is indeed the coaching gem he is being made out to be, making this a mutually beneficial switch.
