Don Hutchison tweets his verdict on West Ham’s summer signings so far

Upton Park

West Ham already have a new manager, coach, goalkeeper and two midfielders.

Former West Ham United midfielder Don Hutchison has heaped praise on the club’s recruitment drive so far this summer.

Indeed, the ex-West Ham man was reacting to Julian Dicks’s appointment as one of Slaven Bilic’s backroom staff and feels the east London side are taking an honourable route in employing former players.

And Hutchison is also pleased about the decision to hire Bilic - another ex-player - as manager in the first place, as well as West Ham’s on-pitch signings.

Among those brought to Upton Park so far this summer in terms of players are Pedro Obiang and Dimitri Payet, with Hutchison sharing the fans’ excitement with regards to who has already joined the Hammers ahead of the new season.

West Ham will be in action at Upton Park this Thursday night for their first Europa League qualifier of the season, which will be shortly followed by the reverse fixture a week later.

The Hammers will be up against Andorran side Lusitanos and Dicks’s own experience as a player may well come in handy during the pre-match preparations - as well as next season as a whole.
