Bakkali was reportedly close to a transfer to Valencia last week, but he has admitted to SoccerNews that his future could lie somewhere else.
The youngster said: “It could be Valencia or Sevilla. Or something else.”
These are certainly cryptic comments, and they open the door on Bakkali potentially signing for any of the other clubs linked with him.
His contract with PSV Eindhoven expired this summer, and after a season in which he was relegated to reserve duties due to not extending his contract, Bakkali’s reputation has take something of a downturn.
He is no longer seen as a prize asset, with issues concerning his off-pitch attitude, but for a free transfer he would still be a great signing.
He is still just 19-years-old, and has shown himself to have all the talent that could make him a world beater in the future.
With doubts remaining about which club he is set to sign for this summer, Celtic and Stoke should be looking to reignite their interest in Bakkali, as they would both be signing a player with real promise for free.
