Callum Wilson: I’m at Bournemouth for many years to come

Bournemouth AFC player huddle

The striker has been linked with West Ham, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Sunderland and Crystal Palace this summer.

Speaking to Football365, Callum Wilson has played down the chances of him leaving Bournemouth this summer, despite the impressive number of clubs looking to sign him.

“When people link me with other clubs it shows that I'm doing well on the pitch, which is great, but that's about it. The bottom line is that I'm contracted to Bournemouth and I'm here for many years to come.

“I don't see why anyone at Bournemouth would want to leave this club at this moment in time.”

The 23-year-old has been linked with up to half of the Premier League in recent months, with the Mirror claiming that Spurs, Villa, Southampton, West Ham, Swansea, Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Newcastle all want the forward.

It is not hard to see why, considering he netted 23 goals in the Championship as the Cherries stormed their way to promotion and the division title. Still young and English, Wilson represents the perfect transfer target, and although he has yet to play in the Premier League, there are few doubts he will make the step up.

There are issues surrounding his gamesmanship - with diving rising to the fore of his game last term - but there are no doubts that Wilson is one of the most naturally gifted young strikers in English football right now.

All the Premier League interest in him is warranted, and if he does make the step up next season, a move to a top flight giant - and potential England appearances - can only be around the corner.

However, the forward has stated that his future lies with Bournemouth, and if they establish themselves in the Premier League, there is just no knowing how good the South Coast club can become.
