HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that former Stoke City midfielder Wilson Palacios and former Crystal Palace forward Stephen Dobbie are both on trial at Bolton.
Both players are free agents after seeing out their contracts at Stoke and Palace respectively, and Bolton are weighing up moves for the pair.
Stoke signed Palacios from Tottenham Hotspur for £6million in 2011 but he started only 14 Premier League games for the club, with his time at the Britannia Stadium blighted by a series of injuries
Palacios failed to make a single first-team appearance last season, but Bolton boss Neil Lennon is ready to offer the Honduras international the chance to prove his fitness and win a move to the Macron Stadium.
Scottish forward Dobbie made just two appearances for Palace after joining the club from Brighton in 2013, spending most of his time away from Selhurst Park on loan at Blackpool and Fleetwood Town.
The duo are expected to take part in Bolton's pre-season training camp in Austria and if they impress, they could be offered deals as Lennon looks to bring in much-needed numbers to his squad ahead of the new Championship season.
