Boilesen has been linked with moving from Ajax to Aston Villa.
Speaking to Ekstra Bladet, the agent of Nicolai Boilesen has commented on the interest in the defender, admitting that talks are ongoing concerning his future, although staying at Ajax has not been ruled out.
He said: “I can't comment on which clubs are showing interest in Nicolai. But I can state that we are talking in relation to what should happen. And if the right club does not pop up, he continues in Ajax, where his contract will expire in one year.”
Whilst not ruling out staying in the Netherlands with Ajax, a move seems more likely, and his agent has confirmed that there is interest in Boilesen - even if he will not name the clubs keen on the defender.
Villa were linked with him yesterday, as per AD.nl, as they are searching for a new left-back for the 2015/16 season.
Aly Cissokho is on the transfer list, and Tim Sherwood does not believe Kieran Richardson can cut it at the top level, and Boilesen, 23, has been targeted as a long-term fix for the problem position.
Villa have already submitted a formal bid for Boilesen, according to the report, although it was rejected as Ajax want a larger fee, despite him having just one year left on his contract.
If Villa truly want the left-back, they are sure to offer a larger fee for his services in the coming weeks. He is a clear improvement on all the options currently at the club, and with Ajax wanting to sell him this summer, the Villains should be going all out to sign him.
