Julian Dicks will be part of West Ham United’s coaching staff next season.

West Ham United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the news that Julian Dicks has been appointed a first-team coach at the club.

Former West Ham defender Dicks has joined new manager Slaven Bilic’s coaching staff for the upcoming 2015-16 campaign.

The Hammers will be aiming for a top-six finish in the Premier League next season, and the 46-year-old retired left-back will be looking to play his part.

Dicks scored 65 goals in 326 games for the Hammers and played with Bilic in their time at the club. The Englishman featured for the London outfit 1988 to 1993 and again from 1994 to 1999.

Dicks, who was in charge of the West Ham United Ladies last season, has managed Wivenhoe Town, Grays Athletic and Sealand before.

Following the announcement, supporters of London outfit West Ham took to Twitter to have their say on Dicks joining the backroom staff.
