Rotherham United have won the race to sign Argentine midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma, HITC Sport understands.
A source close to the player has told HITC Sport that Ledesma has opted for a move to the New York Stadium, after they pushed hard to land his signature and he rejected a number of other Championship and League One clubs.
Ledesma was a free agent after being released by Midddlesbrough after three years at The Riverside Stadium, which saw him play over 50 games for the club.
Injuries hampered him in the past 12 months and he was loaned out to Brighton & Hove Albion and his new club Rotherham.
HITC Sport understands that Sheffield Wednesday made a late move to try and snatch him from their Yorkshire rivals, as they endeavour to piece together a squad capable of pushing for promotion to the Premier League, but the deal was already done with the Millers.
