Rodney Marsh and Jody Morris react on Twitter to Petr Cech joining Arsenal from Chelsea

Former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh and ex-Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris have their say on Petr Cech joining Arsenal.

Former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Petr Cech joining Arsenal from Chelsea.

The Gunners have recruited the Czech Republic international goalkeeper from their Premier League rivals on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee, as announced on the club’s official website.

Marsh believes that Cech will prove to be a great signing for Arsenal and has made the following post on Twitter:

Former Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris is also of the same opinion, although he is disappointed to see Cech join a team who will challenge the Blues for the Premier League title next season.

Brilliant signing

Cech may be 33 years of age, but he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and a truly world-class player.

The former Rennes star made over 400 appearances during 11 years at Stamford Bridge, winning the Premier League title four times and the Champions League once.

The veteran goalkeeper, who also won the FA Cup on four occasions with the Blues, claimed the Premier League Golden Glove award thrice.

Wojciech Szczesny is the Gunners’ first choice between the posts at the moment, and David Ospina is his back-up.

However, Cech will slot into the Arsenal starting line-up rightaway, and he is going to be a key player in the Gunners’ Premier League title challenge next season.
