Leicester City striker Chris Wood passes Leeds United medical, deal not affected by Nigel Pearson sacking

HITC Sport understands Leicester City striker Chris Wood will complete his move to Leeds United on Wednesday.

HITC Sport understands Leeds United are set to announce the signing of Leicester City striker Chris Wood on Wednesday.

As revealed by HITC Sport earlier this week, Leeds were poised to win the race for Wood after agreeing a fee with Leicester for the New Zealand international.

Wolves are also thought to have had an offer accepted for Wood, but the player has decided to make the move to Elland Road.

Wood completed his medical at Leeds on Tuesday and has agreed a four-year deal to become Uwe Rosler's latest signing.

Rosler had made a new striker one of his top targets this summer and landing Wood will come as a major boost ahead of the new Championship season.

HITC Sport understands the sacking of Nigel Pearson at the King Power Stadium will have no affect on the Wood deal with the player set to be unveiled to the media on Wednesday morning.

Wood found himself down the pecking order at Leicester last season, making just six appearances and with the player entering the final year of his contract Leicester have decided to cash-in on the striker.
