Arturo Vidal

The Gunners-linked midfielder squared up to Carlos Zambrano in Chile’s 2-1 win over Peru.

The Guardian have stated this week that Arturo Vidal is wanted by Arsenal, with the Juventus midfielder being repeatedly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Juventus star is currently on international duty with Chile at the Copa America and played a part in his country progressing to the competition final with a 2-1 win over Peru last night.

However, the combative star was also embroiled in an ugly incident in the first-half of the clash, where he squared up to Peruvian defender Carlos Zambrano.

Vidal pushed the Eintracht Frankfurt centre-half in the face and was lucky to escape without punishment.

Zambrano was not as lucky, with the Peru man being sent off later in the half for a high challenge on Charles Aranguiz.

If Arsenal are to land Vidal, there is no doubt that the Chilean star will bring aggression and combativeness to a team that has been accused at times of lacking physicality.

However, the former Bayer Leverkusen star could also be a disciplinary worry, which Arsene Wenger will be keen to avoid after having players at the club in the past that have been sent off too many times.
