David Seaman: Petr Cech can win Arsenal the title

The retired Gunners goalkeeper has stated that the North London club’s new addition could lead the team to the Premier League crown.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has stated that new Gunners signing Petr Cech could win the North London club the Premier League title next season, as per Breathesport.

The long-serving Chelsea custodian put pen-to-paper on a deal to move across London yesterday and will feature at the Emirates Stadium for Arsene Wenger’s title-chasing side next term.

Seaman has stated that the addition of the Czech Republic international could well be the spark that Arsenal need to be England’s top team next season.

“Chelsea's loss could, and likely will, be Arsenal's gain,” the former England international told Breathesport.

“In my opinion this signing could genuinely be the difference between who will come first and who will come second next season.”

Arsenal have had concerns between the sticks for some time now, with Wojciech Szczesny making a number of mistakes last season that resulted in him being dropped.

The Polish stopper was replaced by Colombian David Ospina, who showed a safe pair of hands in the second half of the campaign but now seems destined to leave the North London club.

Cech’s presence as the last line of defence for the Gunners will surely inspire confidence in those around him, with the veteran goalkeeper’s signing a statement of intent by the North London club.
