Leyton Orient are desperately looking for clubs to take their highest earners off their hands, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the League Two club.
Big money arrivals last summer – Jay Simpson, Shane Lowry, Darius Henderson and Jobi McAnuff - are believed to earn close to £100,000 a month collectively, and the O’s cannot get near to that in the fourth tier – having suffered relegation last term.
However, all the players have more than 12 months left on their deals and so now Orient are willing to let them all leave on free transfers.
A host of Championship and League One clubs are now showing a strong interest, whilst there is also interest from abroad in the players too.
Simpson has drawn admiring glances from Scotland, Spain and Germany, while Lowry has teams in his native Australia and Middle East taking a look at him.
A source close to Orient confirmed to HITC Sport: "These guys are on huge money and a League Two club just cannot sustain it, they need them out and everything is being done to facilitate that."
