HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Blackpool are hoping to sign former Leeds defender Paul Connolly.
Connolloy is available on a free transfer after leaving Luton Town last season after one year at Kenilworth Road.
The right-back saw his time at Luton interrupted by a series of injuries, restricting him to just six appearances for the Hatters.
Blackpool boss Neil McDonald is desperate to bolster his squad having seen a number of players leave at the end of the season following their relegation from the Championship.
McDonald has already brought in five new signings, but he wants to bring in quality as he looks to mount a bid back for promotion next season.
McDonald believes Connolly will be a key addition to his plans as he has gained a lot of experience in the Football League throughout his career.
Liverpool-born Connolly started out his career at Plymouth and moved on to Derby in 2008, then Leeds in 2010 before joining Millwall in 2013 and then Luton last season.
