The Frenchman has been linked with a host of clubs across Europe this past month.
One of this summer’s mini transfer sagas looks to be nearing an end after reports emerged today claiming 22-year old midfielder Giannelli Imbula has decided on a move to Portugal.
L’Equipe reports that Porto’s offer of £17.7 million was accepted over the weekend, with the player asking for time to mull over his decision amidst another offer from Inter.
It is claimed he has now revealed his decision to his family, team-mates and Marseille president Vincent Labrune and will be lining up in the blue and white of Porto next season.
But a move to White Hart Lane now seems unlikely with Porto seemingly making full use of their Jackson Martinez windfall to swoop for one of Europe’s most promising midfielders.
TMW are less confident of a deal being agreed however, suggesting Inter remain in with a shout while Valencia and Spurs still have an outside chance.
While his future is undetermined as yet, a move to the Premier League now appears unlikely for Giannelli Imbula and Spurs' search for a midfield general looks set to rumble on.
