Report: AC Milan interested in Tottenham’s Erik Lamela

Italian giants AC Milan are reportedly interested in Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela.

AC Milan are interested in signing winger Erik Lamela from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to Sportmediaset.it.

It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that the Italian giants wants to use the money they planned on spending on Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel to recruit Lamela.

This new report comes just hours after The Mirror claimed that Spurs were in talks with Italian champions Juventus over the transfer of the Argentina international attacker.

Should Tottenham Hotspur sell Erik Lamela?

Lamela struggled in his debut season in the Premier League in 2013-14, but during the 2014-15 campaign he did show promising signs.

It was not the former AS Roma star’s best season, but the 23-year-old certainly played much better than he did in 2013-14.

In 33 Premier League appearances for Tottenham, Lamela scored two goals and created 60 chances.

The former River Plate star had a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 50%, and won six headers, 55 dribbles and 65 tackles.

It would be wise of Spurs to retain the services of Lamela for one more season and give him another chance.

However, if Milan offer the North London outfit a good transfer fee, then the Premier League club would be in a dilemma.
