Ramsey reacts on Twitter to new Arsenal signing, who replies to Walcott

Petr Cech has joined Arsenal from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at the signing of Petr Cech from Chelsea.

The Gunners have recruited the Czech Republic international goalkeeper from their Premier League rivals on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee, as announced on the club’s official website.

Wales international midfielder Ramsey is delighted to see Cech move to Arsenal and has posted the following message on Twitter:

England international forward Theo Walcott has also welcomed the 33-year-old goalkeeper to the Emirates Stadium with an interesting post on Twitter, to which Cech has replied.

Good signing

Cech is a world-class goalkeeper, and his move to Arsenal is certainly going to enhance the quality of manager Arsene Wenger’s squad.

The former Rennes star was the second choice at Chelsea in the 2014-15 campaign, but that was largely because of the rise of Thibaut Courtois over the past few years.

Courtois is only 23 years of age, and it made sense for the Blues to make him the first choice in 2014-15.

Wojciech Szczesny is the Gunners’ first choice between the posts at the moment, and David Ospina is his back-up.

Cech, though, is likely to be the number one at Arsenal next season, despite the fact that he is 33 years of age.

The former Rennes goalkeeper will certainly be an upgrade on them and could even make Arsenal genuine Premier League title contenders next season.
