Spanish speedster set to join Granada as Premier League clubs fail to come up with deal for Almeria ace.
Edgar Mendez is set to link up with Granada after stepped in quickly to land him, HITC Sport understands.
The player's English representative, Craig Honeyman of HSH Sports, has confirmed to HITC Sport that Mendez is now unlikely to make the move to England.
"It looks 99% certain that Edgar will join Granada now," Honeyman confirmed.
"They are getting a great player who I am sure they will sell for a lot of money in the future.
"There was interest from English clubs in January and again this summer but Granada have moved quickly to secure the player."
Mendez is renowned in Spain for being one of the quickest players in their league, even quicker than Real Madrid's Gareth Bale.
A number of clubs had looked at Mendez in January, including Arsenal and Everton - reported The Sun earlier this year, and they were then quoted just over £2million - now the player is set to join Granada for closer to £500,000.
Mendez, most commonly known simply as Edgar, is 24-years-old and began his career in Real Madrid's academy.
He played in La Liga last season for the first time in his career with Almeria, and impressed for the side, who were ultimately relegated in 19th place.
