Martin Montoya is set to depart Barcelona with Liverpool among the interested parties.
Any prospect of a Martin Montoya transfer to Liverpool has seemingly been shot down, with the Barcelona right back’s agent revealing a loan deal to Inter has almost been finalised.
“We're talking to Inter about Montoya," Juan De Dios Carrasco said in an interview with Calciomercato.com.
"Let's hope there could be a good conclusion to these negotiations. We're working on it. Montoya feels that Inter are a great club and this would represent a great opportunity."
The Telegraph revealed Liverpool’s interest in the Barcelona right back earlier this month but talk of a move has since cooled.
The La Masia graduate looks set to join Inter after four years at Barcelona where he managed just 43 senior appearances and will add to an Inter side that have completed their business efficiently this summer.
Geoffrey Kondogbia was the surprise signing, arriving from Monaco for £25 million amid interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs.
Roberto Mancini is slowly constructing a squad capable of returning Inter to its former glory and next season promises to be an exciting one at the San Siro.
