Manchester United round-up: Memphis Depay focused ahead of training and Sergio Ramos latest

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United’s new signing Memphis Depay has taken to Twitter as he looks ahead to starting life at Old Trafford.

The Netherlands international agreed a £25million move to United earlier this summer, ending a very successful spell at PSV Eindhoven where he played 124 matches, scoring 50 goals and providing 29 assists in that time.

And having fired his former side to the Eredivisie title last season his next task is to do the same for United in the Premier League.

Writing on the social media site on Monday afternoon, the 21-year-old said, “Had an amazing holiday; now focus and off to Manchester.”

In other news, the Daily Mail reports that United are considering making a second bid for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

This contradicts a report at the weekend – from the Telegraph – which claimed United had already offered an improved £42.5million for the 29-year-old.

The latest from the Mail suggests that Real want to finalise their squad before their pre-season tour, suggesting that any move on United’s part will have to come relatively quickly.
