Two Celtic stories that have nothing to do with transfers...
Celtic's top scorer last season Leigh Griffiths took to Twitter on Sunday afternoon ahead of his return to training with the Bhoys.
The 24-year-old ran away with the top scorer award last term after a strong finish to the Hoops' league campaign.
But Griffiths started his Celtic season slowly, failing to win a regular place in Ronny Deila's side. A good pre-season will no doubt be key this term when it comes to avoiding a similar early-season fate.
It will also be vital to the Bhoys' hopes of reaching the Champions League group stages. The good news is he's raring to go:
Looking forward to getting back to training tomorrow, seeing the boys and get the season started!— leigh griffiths (@Leighgriff09) June 28, 2015
Meanwhile, former Celtic defender Tosh McKinley has lauded boss Deila, suggesting there is no reason why the Scottish champions cannot make it through to the Champions League knockout stages - let alone the group, according to the Daily Record.
Indeed, McKinley compared the Norwegian to Jock Stein, as well as Gordon Strachan and Neil Lennon - and is rather optimstic about the campaign that lies ahead for Celtic.
He is quoted as saying by the Record: "I don’t see why Celtic can’t progress to the knock-out phase of the Champions League - and match the amazing achievements of Gordon Strachan and Neil Lennon.
"Stein won his first trophy with Celtic in 1965 then two years later was a champion of Europe."
