Barcelona to bid £64m for Paul Pogba, use Lionel Messi as drawcard - report

Paul Pogba

Spanish newspaper Sport has claimed that the Catalans are set to make their move for the Juventus midfielder.

Barcelona are set to launch a €90 million (£64m) bid for Paul Pogba this week, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

The French midfielder is widely acknowledged as one of the most gifted young players in world football, with his future a source of speculation this summer.

The latest development in Sport states that the reigning Spanish and European champions will offer €80 million plus an extra €10m in variables for the ex-Manchester United midfielder when they meet with Juve officials on Wednesday.

The report also states that the Camp Nou side are confident in their pursuit of Pogba, with Barcelona hopeful of completing a deal to bring the France international to La Liga in 2016 when the club’s transfer ban ends.

Luis Enrique’s men also feel that the presence of Lionel Messi, arguably the world’s best player at the moment, will also be a drawcard for Pogba to move to Barcelona.

Pogba featured in the Champions League final for Juventus earlier this month against the Catalan powerhouses, but ended up on the wrong side of the result as Barcelona secured a memorable treble.
