Report: Monaco may ask for Chelsea youngsters as part of Falcao deal

The French side may look to make the most of losing their star striker.

Monaco may ask for a trio of Chelsea youngsters in exchange for forward Radamel Falcao, according to L’Equipe.

The Colombian looks set to join Jose Mourinho’s side on a season-long loan deal after Manchester United turned down the chance to secure him for themselves.

While a deal seems increasingly likely, it is yet to be confirmed between both clubs, although that may now pick up speed given his country have been eliminated from the Copa America.

And it seems the French side will try to make the most of the situation by attempting to secure a trio of Chelsea youngsters as part of the deal.

The named trio are defensive duo Nathan Ake and Andreas Christensen, while midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also on their radar according to L’Equipe. But the Daily Mirror suggest Isaiah Brown is more likely due to Jose Mourinho's determination to hold on to Loftus-Cheek.

A good deal for the youngsters

A proposed deal that sees youngsters heading to France could be ideal for both clubs. The trio are unlikely to get much game time at Stamford Bridge but would likely see far more in France.

Mourinho deemed only Loftus-Cheek good enough for first-team football last season - and even that was limited. By sending them out on loan, he could ensure they get vital game time and develop at a much better rate than they would for the Blues' reserve side.
