Report: Manchester United interested in Everton’s Seamus Coleman

Seamus Coleman for Republic of Ireland

Everton defender Seamus Coleman is reportedly on Premier League rivals Manchester United’s radar.

Manchester United are interested in signing Seamus Coleman from Everton this summer, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that the defender is on United manager Louis van Gaal’s wish-list.

The Dutchman is reportedly looking for a quality right-back this summer, and he has identified Coleman as a suitable candidate.

According to The Sun, the 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international is rated at £20 million.

Coleman is the second Everton player this month to be linked with a move to United this summer.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that the Premier League giants are interested in signing 21-year-old England international defender John Stones from the Toffees.

Good signing?

Winger Antonio Valencia played as a right-back for United last season, and it will be a good move from the Red Devils if they sign Coleman.

The former Sligo Rovers star is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League, and he will certainly enhance the quality of the current United squad.

In 35 Premier League appearances last season, Coleman scored three goals and created 34 chances.

The irishman had a pass accuracy of 84% and a shot accuracy of 64%, and won 18 headers, 49 dribbles and 42 tackles.
