Chelsea are interested in signing Aleksandar Mitrovic from Anderlecht this summer, according to The Daily Mail.
It has been reported by the British newspaper that the Premier League champions followed the youngster throughout last season and have been impressed with him.
The 20-year-old striker is reported to be keen on playing Champions League football next season and wants to earn around £60,000 a week plus bonuses.
Anderlecht are also ready to sell Mitrovic, according to The Daily Mail.
Blow for Swansea City and Newcastle United?
Chelsea joining the race for Mitrovic is a blow for Premier League rivals Swansea City and Newcastle United.
According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle are interested in the Serbia international, while The Sun recently claimed that Swansea are looking to snap him up and O Jogo has reported of Benfica’s interest in him.
Mitrovic’s reported wish to play in the Champions League means that Chelsea will have an edge over both Swansea and Newcastle.
However, many will question whether the striker is going to play regularly for the Blues next season.
Diego Costa is Chelsea’s undisputed first-choice striker, which means that Mitrovic will have to be content playing second fiddle to the Spain international.
