According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa are lining up a move for Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie, and a £7m bid could be made.
With Micah Richards already snapped up on a free transfer, manager Tim Sherwood must now turn his attention to strengthening other areas of his team.
Having lost loanee Tom Cleverley to Everton, Sherwood needs to bring in a new central midfielder this summer - and it seems that Clasie could be a target.
The Telegraph report that Sherwood is considering a £7m bid to land the Dutchman this summer, who is certainly in demand.
The Mirror recently suggested that Newcastle were vying with Southampton for Clasie's signature, but Villa are now reportedly hoping to sign the 24-year-old as Sherwood searches for reinforcements.
Ideal Cleverley replacement?
Clasie's biggest attribute is his passing ability. The Dutch international possesses a wide passing range, and is able to spray the ball around to all corners of the pitch.
Essentially a deep-lying playmaker, Clasie loves to get on the ball and pass the ball into his team-mates, often starting attacks in defensive midfield for Feyenoord.
Those attributes are somewhat similar to Cleverley, and whilst he may cost more than the former England international, he could be even more effective for Sherwood.
