HITC Sport understands that Jeffrey Schlupp is close to penning a long-term contract extension at Leicester City.
HITC Sport understands from sources close to the deal that Jeffrey Schlupp is poised to pen a new long-term contract at Leicester City.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a key man for the Foxes, with his versatility a useful asset for any side.
He did not look out of place among the Premier League elite last season, being a virtual ever-present as Leicester secured their top-flight status in style with a late surge.
Those efforts did not go unnoticed as he scooped the club’s Young Player of the Year award and the Players’ Player of the Year prize.
Schlupp has also been drawing admiring glances from afar, with the Daily Express suggesting that he has been closely monitored by Arsenal, Manchester United and Aston Villa.
He is, however, prepared to ignore interest from outside of the King Power Stadium and commit his future to Leicester.
That will be music to the ears of Nigel Pearson, as he endeavours to retain the services of key men and make important additions ahead of a crucial 2015/16 campaign.
