Armine Harit has been linked with Arsenal and Barcelona.

As reported by the French publication Footmercato, highly-rated France U19 international Armine Harit has snubbed offers from Arsenal and Barcelona to sign a new contract at Nantes.

The 18-year-old central midfielder has been touted as one of the best youngsters currently in France, impressing in a recent youth competition with the French U19 side.

Arsenal and Barcelona are among Europe’s elite who often track the best youngsters, according to Footmercato, but their intentions on this occasion have surprisingly been snubbed by a humble Harit.

“I am conscious that clubs from England, Italy and Belgium are interested in me but for now, I’m not interested in moving,” he told Footmercato.

“My club is Nantes, and they are my priority. Since being here I’ve felt well, I feel I have progressed. I speak a lot with my coach and the club are happy and they’ve asked me to continue here.”

The new contract is said to be for another two years, although with his potential it could well be the last contract he has with Nantes before moving on to a bigger club.

Could Armine Harit join Arsenal in the future?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has experienced plenty of success with the French market, and players in France know that moving to North London is a step in the right direction.

The most recent players to reap the rewards of joining the Arsenal academy are Hector Bellerin and Francois Coquelin, two stars who have broken into the first-team over the past six months.

Wenger will know all about Harit’s abilities and potential, and should he continue in his current trajectory regarding his development it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Gunners lodge a bid next summer.
