Report: Tottenham to launch £7m bid for Everton’s Kevin Mirallas

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Everton winger Kevin Mirallas this summer.

The need for attacking reinforcements at Tottenham Hotspur is plain to see following poor showings from the likes of Roberto Soldado, Emmanuel Adebayor and Andros Townsend last season.

Eurosport reported on Friday that a deal for Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka was close to being completed, and it now appears that Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino is moving on other attacking targets.

Tottenham will test Everton’s resolve with a £7 million bid for Kevin Mirallas, according to The Mirror. A swap deal, involving Aaron Lennon, was reportedly attempted in January but no agreement was reached.

The Spurs man spent the second half of the season on loan at Goodison Park and impressed in his 14 appearances. Lennon is not in Pochettino’s plans, however, and is likely to be involved in any potential deal for Mirallas.

Good signing?

The Belgian had another decent campaign last season, scoring 11 goals and grabbing 2 assists in his 34 outings, and will add pace and directness to the Spurs attack.

Mirallas had been linked with a move to Olympiakos in recent days, but the Liverpool Echo reported no deal was in the offing and the 27-year old is believed to prefer a stay in England.

It appears that attention has now turned to the business end of the pitch after the signings of Kieran Trippier and Kevin Wimmer.

The signings of both Mirallas and Konoplyanka would represent major steps in improving the Spurs squad, and would suggest that Pochettino is slowly turning a somewhat ragtag bunch into a group he can trust across the board.
