Reported Leeds United target Birkir Bjarnason will join Torino next week, according to Gianlucadimarzio.com.
It has been reported that the Pescara midfielder will undergo a medical on either Monday or Tuesday before putting pen to paper on a contract with Torino.
The Iceland international will sign a three-year deal with the Turin outfit and will receive €450,000 (£319,000) per season as salary, according to the report.
According to a report in Gianlucadimarzio.com earlier this month, Championship club Leeds are interested in Bjarnason, but it now appears that they are set to miss out on the former Sampdoria midfielder.
Move makes sense
Bjarnason is a very good midfielder, and it will come as a disappointment to Leeds if indeed he signs for Torino next week.
However, it makes sense for the player to snub the reported interest of the West Yorkshire outfit and remain in Italy.
The 27-year-old knows Italian football inside out, and Torino are also in Serie A. Joining Leeds when he has an offer from an Italian top-flight club would be a step down in his career.
