Watford, Crystal Palace and AS Roma are reportedly interested in former Newcastle United defender Davide Santon.

Roma could make a move for former Newcastle United defender Davide Santon this summer, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.

According to the Italian news outlet, Serie A outfit Roma are looking to sell Greece international left-back Jose Holebas to newly-promoted Premier League club Watford.

If the deal goes through, then the Rome-based outfit could move for Inter full-back Santon as a replacement, according to the report.

Roma finished second in Serie A in 2014-15 and have booked a place in the group stage of the Champions League next season.

Davide Santon’s current situation

Santon returned to his former club Inter from Premier League side Newcastle only in January.

In nine Serie A appearances for the Nerazzurri during the 2014-15 season, the Italy international created 11 chances, had a pass accuracy of 90% and a shot accuracy of 75%, and won 17 headers, 13 dribbles and eight tackles.

In three Europa League matches, the 24-year-old created two chances, had a pass accuracy of 88%, and won four headers, five dribbles and six tackles.

Tuttomercatoweb reported earlier this week that Crystal Palace want Santon, while according to Gianlucadimarzio.com Watford have an interest in the 24-year-old.

However, the player himself stated on his official Facebook page on Wednesday that he is determined to remain at Inter, and maintained that stance to the Inter hierarchy, according to Italian news outlet Fcinternews.it.
