Liverpool have added another Brazilian to their ranks and he could be the best of the bunch.
As reported by the BBC last week, Liverpool have agreed a £29million deal to bring the 23-year-old to Merseyside from German club Hoffenheim, and Coutinho has been quick to give the lowdown on his countryman.
Firmino is one of the most exciting players to arrive at Anfield for some time, with his goal-scoring form in the Bundesliga suggesting the Reds could have bagged a superstar-in-the-making.
Last season the attacking midfielder scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists while in the previous campaign he netted a remarkable 22 times and set up an additional 16.
If he can bring that kind of form to Liverpool the fans will soon have a new favourite player and Coutinho certainly thinks he has what it takes to succeed in England.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, the Brazilian said, “He is strong physically, he is fast, agile, very skilful on the ball and he scores a lot of goals – he is a great forward.
“I am sure he will be of great help to us next season.”
There is no doubt about that, with Liverpool now in possession of another regular goal-threat to ease the burden on the likes of Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge.
If fellow summer signing Danny Ings can also hit the ground running it could be an exciting campaign at Anfield, but more additions need to be made before they can be thinking about silverware again.
