Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his excitement after agreeing to join Aberdeen on loan for the upcoming 2015-16 campaign.
On Friday, it was announced on the Reds’ official website that the 22-year-old will be sent out on loan to Aberdeen.
The youngster could make his debut for the Scottish side as early as this Sunday during a friendly against St Johnstone in Brechin.
Ward is looking forward to playing for Derek McInnes’s side, who finished second in the Scottish Premiership during the 2014-15 season.
Australia international goalkeeper Brad Jones, who was released by Liverpool last month, hopes that the youngster fares well in Scotland.
Interestingly, Ward signed a new long-term contract with Premier League outfit Liverpool earlier this week.
Many would have expected the Wales Under-21 international to remain at Anfield and fight for a place in the first-team squad next season.
However, it seems that Liverpool want him to get some valuable first-team experience outside of Anfield, and hopefully Ward will return from his loan spell at Aberdeen a better player.
