Manchester United legend Gary Neville has suggested on social networking site Twitter that he still has faith in Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren.
Much was expected of the 25-year-old in his debut season at Anfield, but he endured a rather forgettable 2014-15 campaign.
Lovren won only 94 out of 130 headers and just 35 out of 80 tackles in 26 Premier League appearances last season.
The former Dinamo Zagreb star created two chances and has a pass accuracy of 85%.
The defender eventually lost his place in the Liverpool starting line-up, but former United star Neville has suggested on Twitter that Lovren will get back to his best.
I still like Lovren. He's a lot better than he's shown. Needs work he was getting at Southampton. https://t.co/1MRBp9B4Oe— Gary Neville (@GNev2) June 27, 2015
Lovren showed his quality at Southampton during the 2013-14 season, and he should be given another chance at Liverpool.
However, the former Lyon centre-back will have to prove during pre-season that he is good enough to get back into the Reds’ starting line-up first.
