Barcelona are keen to add more players this summer.
The Catalans are currently in the midst of a transfer embargo, set to expire in January, but are able to make signings this summer - illustrated by the arrival of Aleix Vidal.
After winning a memorable La Liga, Copa Del Rey and Champions League treble in such devastating fashion last season, it’s difficult to suggest which areas of the team or squad need improving.
Nonetheless, the Catalans aren’t about to rest on the laurels as Josep Maria Bartomeu has promised more additions at the Nou Camp ahead of next season.
“We have a very well-equipped squad for next season, but Aleix Vidal will not be the only signing,” the Barca president revealed.
“The club will not come to a standstill because of the elections and will work on the plans made by Luis Enrique. The coach knows what we need and we do our homework.”
Barcelona’s main summer target is seemingly a midfielder following the exit of Xavi, and the name on the lips of most supporters is that of Juventus superstar Paul Pogba.
As per the latest reports from Diario Sport, a meeting is scheduled with the France international’s representatives as the La Liga champions look to make a big-money splash on the midfielder.
Another area which has been sounded out is in central defence, despite being well covered by the likes of Gerard Pique, Jeremy Mathieu, Marc Barta, Thomas Vermaelen and Javier Mascherano.
Barca have been credited with holding an interest in Monaco’s Aymen Abdennour, as per Mundo Deportivo, though it’s a position which doesn’t particularly require immediate attention.
